No.3 Baker's Soldering Fluid - 125ml
No.3 Baker\'s Soldering Fluid - 125ml

€9.50 Product Code: 7562
Description
Baker’s No 3 soldering fluid is a unique blend of chemicals developed to enable simple soft soldering of metals such as copper and brass. The activator, which consists mainly of zinc and ammonium chloride is combined with wetting agents and water to produce the finished product.

Product Uses
Due to the activity of the fluid it is suitable for soldering to the following metals:
  • Copper
  • Brass
  • Pewter
  • Tin
  • Terne Alloy
  • Bronze

The Baker’s No 3 fluid should be used in the following manner:
1. Using a brush apply the flux to the joint area
2. With a soldering iron / gas torch heat up the joint area
3. Feed the solder onto / into the joint ensuring uniform flow
4. Once the fillet is complete remove heat source and allow to cool
5. Remove flux residue by washing the joint area with warm water

In order to avoid any corrosion occuring to the joint area it is important to thoroughly remove all flux residues.

When soldering with an iron, this needs to be cleaned prior to use, before heating. A thin application of Fluxite is then applied so that the iron can be tinned with solder. Fluxite is also applied to the area to be soldered, which is then heated with a soldering iron or flame soldered. Wipe the area with a clean damp rag to remove any excess flux or residues.
