80mm Swivel Nylon Castor
80mm Swivel Nylon Castor

€3.87 Product Code: 6892
Nylon wheels provide higher load capacity and low rolling resistance. Good performance where water, oil, organic solvents and dilute acids are present.

Diameter: 80mm
Width of wheel: 30mm
Bearing: plain
Plate Size: 105 x 80mm
Hole Spacing: 80 x 60mm
Overall Height: 108mm
Load Capacity: 100kg
Hub Size: 40 x 12mm
Temperature Range: -30C to 80C

LOAD CAPACITIES
In order to choose the correct wheel/castor it is necessary to determine the unit load to be moved. This is calculated by adding THE WEIGHT OF THE TROLLEY to the LOAD TO BE MOVED divided by the number of wheels in use.As a general rule we recommend that the total weight should be divided by three to allow for average factory and industrial use where floors may be uneven or poor quality.

Important Note Regarding Load Capacities: Load capacities quoted within this catalogue are applicable for normal mechanical handling applications.Where castors are used for non standard applications expert advice should be sought.Load capacities quoted to ideal working conditions(I.e.Overloading and shock loading are impossible, and the floor is of a non-abrasive nature and free from cracks and other obstacles).

CONSTRUCTION
We recommend that the following factors are taken into account, INITIAL STARTING EFFORT REQUIRED- Different wheel types require varying starting efforts.Opposite is a brief summary of wheel types and initial effort required.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
The type of wheel and fork construction(Stainless Steel or Zinc Plated Steel) must take into account the user requirements and external conditions which it will encounter.Examples would include:
- Degree of floor protection required
- Presence of Chemicals,Oils,Water,Salt and solvents
- Temperatures
- Quality of floor surface
- Level of Silent running required

WHEEL BEARINGS
Hard thread wheels (e.g. Nylon or Cast Iron) are normally supplied with plain bearings as they are relatively easier to move.Resilient or Soft Thread wheels can be more difficult to push and are normally supplied with Roller or Ball Bearings to keep rolling resistance to a minimum.
Ball Bearing - Use for greatest ease of movement
Roller Bearing - Use for move comfortable ease of movement
Plain Bearing - Use for normal conditions

CASTOR CONFIGURATION
There are various castor configurations available to the user. The choice will depend upon the directional control and level of manoeuvrability required. The most popular configurations are as follows:
4 Swivel - Excellent manoeuvrability where side motion is required.Straight line steering more difficult
2 Swivel & 2 Fixed - Good directional control and accurate steering with fixed castors in leading position
4 Fixed - An economical configuration where there are very few changes in direction required.

BRAKES
The relative degree of wheel brake performance is influenced by the type of wheel thread. As a general rule wheel brakes do not perform as well on hard thread wheels as they do on resilient or soft thread. To improve the performance of brakes on hard thread wheels over time, we recommend the use of castors with adjustable brakes.
