SIT's origin begins in 1662 with a Craftsman's Workshop for the Production of Paintbrushes". Bought in 1908 by Alessandro Acquaderni the workshop will become Bolognese Paintbrush Shop: it is the first Italian industrial brush factory.

Thanks to modern technologies in a few years SIT becomes leader in various industrial sector and hardware markets. In 1995 and 2002 there's a renovation and expansion of the productive and office area.
